OBDF 311 - Project 1 - Week 1 - Proposal
PROJECT 1 - WEEK 1
PROPOSAL
Hello! This week is my proposal, and with me being a character design and illustration major, I decided to take on something I strongly believe is both ambitious, and rewarding.
For this Bespoke Object, I will be bringing one of my characters to life in 3D. However, I will be utilizing two programs, Rhino and ZBrush.
Circled in pink, I will re imagining her in a 3D space, utilizing ZBrush to achieve her figure model, and Rhino for more symmetrical objects, like the weapon she will be holding below and the rock and base plate.

Within this fantasy world, muskets exist as form of weaponry. Here, I tried to pose her silhouette into a form that I believe would utilize both Rhino and ZBrush effectively. I drew a small turnaround to reference the character in a 3D space, as well as two concepts for a base plate; rocky, or grass.
Take this for example. Perhaps a hybrid of both? However, I wish to embed the actual textures and shapes into the model. With my approach, I will possibly have each significant part fabricated separately and snap together. This will require me to design slots and protrusions so that they 'snap' in place. Like below.
The three parts I'm thinking is the character figure, the rock, and the base plate. And possibly the musket.
Here, for example. I separated each piece and how they might connect.
The rock onto the base plate, figure onto the rock, and the rifle onto the hand. This might work. For the following weeks, I also plan to use the resin printer to print out my figure, seeing that it has been recommended by Peter for more intricate objects, like figures.
